Building Vlad’s Minion Horde
Vladimir Tod is a fairly typical high school student. But there are some Vlad facts you ought to know: 1)he has fangs and 2) he fears garlic. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod is a series of 5 books written by Heather Brewer and published by Penguin--each book tracking and reporting the trials and tribulations of this interesting and magnetic blood sucker. Thousands upon thousands of readers want to keep up with Vlad. These masses are called the Minion Horde and the horde is growing daily. Penguin wanted to build them much more than a site, they wanted to build them a place with a 360 degree view of all things Vlad. So where’d they go? Mess.
We built a digital paradise (lovingly called The Horde House)that constantly updates new Vlad news.
It streams the author’s playlist. It offers Vladaholics new excerpts. It shows trailers. It lets The Horde tweet with each other in English or Elysian (if you have to ask what it is, your not in The Horde (yet). It tells you where and when events will be for you to congregate and maybe have a few words with author Heather Brewer. Most importantly, it connects with young readers--and this is where Penguin wants and needs to be.
This is a place where you can go 24-hours a day (it’s safer at sundown) when you just can’t get enough of Vladimir Tod.
